Having Voice, Hearing Voice, Creating Connections

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session invites participants to explore and express their voice through collage, and/or poetry. Using these devices, we will explore the idea of voice: as self-expression, its role in insightful dialogue, in advocacy, and in the marketplace of ideas, and in making connections. We will dive into a structured dialogue to discover the difference between “having one’s say” and having a voice in a way that constructs understanding, creates connections and insight.

Participants are encouraged to bring their cell phone, tablet, iPad and headphones to the session.

Three Key Takeaways:
Participants will:
  • Explore the idea authentic voice and one’s responsibility regarding it
  • Practice the role of generous and authentic listening as an accompaniment to voice
  • Reflect and practice how arts can and have been/are used as a platform for diverse voices
